Summer Reading Programs
TD Summer Reading Club (for children of all ages): Children’s summer activities begin this month! Registration is required for Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday programs. To register please call the library at 613-283-2911. For a calendar of programs, visit our Kids Programs page.
Teen Summer Reading Program (ages 12-18 from June 28th to September 4th): Download the “Rewards for Reading” log from our Teen Summer Reading Program page to get awesome prizes for reading! Teen must be a resident of Smiths Falls or a Smiths Falls Public Library cardholder.
Teen Summer Writing Contest (ages 12-18): This year’s theme is “Strange Creatures.” Minimum 2000 words, maximum 10,000. The winner will receive a $100.00 prize from the Smiths Falls & District Arts & Culture Council. Teen must be a resident of Smiths Falls or a Smiths Falls Public Library cardholder to be eligible for a prize. Stories are due August 20th. Get Outdoors Club – “Night Life” (all ages): So much happens after the sun sets! This month, we’ll give you some tips for stargazing and we’ll learn about moon phases and constellations. Try a night ‘Bug Hunt’ to see what bugs you are missing when it’s dark. Not into bugs? How about a ‘Bat Watch?’ We’ll also show you how to bring the cosmos inside with a “Galaxy in a Jar” craft.
