Service Update – January 2022

In response to an announcement by the Government of Ontario on January 3rd, 2022, the Smiths Falls Public Library will remain open regular hours with some service changes. At the time of this posting the following applies:

  • We will remain open with our usual hours. Please see our Contact page for our current hours.
  • Curbside service will be available by request for those who do not wish to enter the library or for those unable to wear a mask.
  • All visitors to the library are required to wear a mask. Should someone with a mask exemption need to use a computer, they must wear a face shield.
  • Anyone who wishes to use a public computer must first register with staff at the main desk and provide a name and current phone number. Only two (2) computers may be used at a time.
  • The maximum capacity of the library will be 40 visitors (not including staff). If this limit is exceeded, those who have been in the building for the longest amount of time will be asked to leave. Please limit your time in the library.
  • Seating areas will be limited to one person. No food or drink will be allowed in public areas.
  • There will be no in-person programming at this time. Passive programs and virtual programs will continue as planned.

Procedures are subject to change at any time. Please keep an eye on the library’s website or follow us on social media for the most up-to-date information.
