A Chapter for Tomorrow: Leave a gift that lives forever in our library.
The Smiths Falls Public Library is an integral third place in the Town of Smiths Falls. We offer materials, programs, and services to all ages and are open to all.
The Smiths Falls Public Library Board is a registered charity. Our number is 106986177RR0001.
The library is mostly funded through taxes paid to the Town of Smiths Falls (approximately 90% of the library’s total funding) which must fund many competing priorities. Donations, including legacy gifts, allow the library to offer more than we otherwise could.
Money invested in the library has a tremendous impact. SROI (Social Return on Investment) at the Smiths Falls Public Library has been calculated at $4.63 for every $1 invested.
For gifts of $10,000+, the board will consider naming rights if desired by the donor.
- Legacy gifts can have a huge impact for many years to come. A substantial part of our newly renovated/expanded children’s department was funded through an anonymous bequest.
- Legacy gifts may be unrestricted or designated for specific purposes (eg. children’s programming or large print books).
- Legacy gifts of all amounts are welcome.
