Current Programs

The Smiths Falls Public Library currently offers two book clubs for adults:

The Tuesday Morning Book Club meets the first Tuesday of the month at 10:30 a.m. 

The Books and Brews Club meets the first Wednesday of the month at 7:00 p.m. 

The Fiction Addiction Club meets at Starbucks the last Tuesday of Every Month at 6:00 p.m. and it for ages 16+

Stories & More encourages a love of reading through stories, rhymes, songs and activities plus a theme related craft.
This program does not require registration and is suitable for ages 1-5, older siblings are always welcome! Space is limited. Please arrive a few minutes prior to allow time for you and your child to settle in.

Mother Goose on the Loose is a new program that is replacing Baby & Me time.  It is a fun-filled half-hour of skill-building activities that follow a repetitive routine.  It is an interactive program and consists of books, music, movement and nursery rhymes. 

As with all our preschool programs please come prepared to engage with your child.  Silence cell phones, and save food, toys etc. for the social time happening after the program. 

Mother Goose on the Loose is held on Fridays at 10:30 am.  It is suitable for babies and toddlers (6 months to 3 years) Older siblings are always welcome.

Go Wild! Read 1000 Books Before Kindergarten! This program is for children from birth to kindergarten and encourages reading with their parent. Colour in the dots on the animal tracking sheet for every book read and then spin the wheel for a fun prize. Once you have completed the 10 animal sheets, you’ve read 1000 books!

Reading Dragons & Friends
Collect, evolve and battle by joining this NEW program for children ages 6 to 12. Reading has never been more fun…for every 30 minutes you read you earn a dragon card. There are four cards in each dragon family and you can potentially earn four families each month. Visit Debra in the Children’s Department to start your Dragon Adventure.

Teen Advisory Board is a registered program for teens ages 13-18.

The Smiths Falls Public Library is looking for driven, creative, passionate and all-around awesome teens to join the Teen Advisory Board! (T.A.B.)

Middle School Club

Calling all students ages 11-14! Join us every Thursday from 5:00 – 6:00 PM for some super fun activities. Every month we’ll do at least one craft day, a game day, and STEM day.
